as far as i know there are about 5 methods to determine BMR...

i'd die if i ate at my BMR... it's not enough to sustain me, even w/o exercise. if you DO exercise, you really need to eat more cals OR refeed twice a week because it can slow the metabolism otherwise.

anyway, if i had the choice i'd eat the 1600 cals over the BMR... that's what your body needs to function AT REST.
