Default whipped cream leaves a filmy coating in mouth?

I whip cream once in a while. I havent in a couple of months, but this morning I was in the mood and made some with some unsweetened cocoa powder, a touch of vanilla and creme de menthe davinci syrup.

Now that I am eating it, there is a horrible filmy texture in my mouth that I dont remember getting before.

Could it be because of the ingredients I used, or was the cream too old? The expiration is in a while, and I just opened it yesterday.

I beat it in a plastic bowl instead of a metal one, does that make a difference?

Any help would be appreciated, since I would not like to repeat this mistake again.

Thanks,

MJ
