Yup to getting them taken in. I was lucky enough to have a mom that taught me to sew when I was a kid, so I have been taking in my clothes as I go along where ever practical. I don't do tough alterations, but easy things like taking in a side seam on elasticized waist pants or a couple of darts in the waist of some jeans is well worth the effort.
