Although I do not have high blood pressure, I am on blood pressure medication (Atenolol) for a rapid, irregular heartbeat. I have been on various meds. for 9 years. My heartrate would never go below 80 beats per minute. I started the Atkins program a few weeks ago, and my heartrate dropped down to 73 bpm within the first week! It varies within the 70's range now. I am planning to see my Dr. soon to see if I can cut baclk on my meds!
