Thumbs up hi Brian

Congrats on the 12 lbs lost so far, that's awesome!

Yes, many low-carbers following Atkins' program remain at Induction level of 20 grams of carbs for weeks, even months.

A few things to note: I'm sure you know this, but just to mention that your rapid initial rate of loss will likely slow a bit as time goes on. The "average" rate of loss is 1-2% per week. So don't worry that you're doing something wrong, or that you need to cut back your carbs more if things seem to slow down; it's normal and to be expected. A gradual, steady loss is more likely to STAY off in the long run.

Make sure you're eating plenty of protein and fats, and keep drinking lots and lots of water ... Sometimes there's a tendency to eat less and less, because being in ketosis will blunt the appetite. While this is good in the short term because it helps to overcome cravings, in the long term it can slow the metabolism, and will make it really hard to lose as you get closer to goal. Are you exercising and working out too?? That will help keep the fat-burning furnace hot

Continued success to you!

Doreen
