The mini goals are one of the things that have helped keep me motivated. I also use the Fitday software to track my results, which helps me see how my body shape is changing as well. I also have a body fat scale that helps me see the trend in my body fat %.
The clinic I visit helped me set 'mini goals'.
At first they used the standard weight loss chart for starting weight vs calories eaten/calories burned.
The goals they set for me were pretty low and I exceeded them easily.
Since then, they've adjusted my goals a bit and its a little more realistic, but I'm still beating the curve. They suggested the 254lbs by May 1st, but I hit that goal a week ahead of schedule.
