Good thing I checked this out. I'm lowcarbing pregnant, I'm due very soon. I eat between 100-150gms a day. You don't want to be in Ketosis pregnant. I have lost weight, I feel good for the most part. I do have gestational diabetes so I have to be very careful with my BS, but they are in control. The weight loss is not intentional, it is just happening, I eat plenty of food. The Dr. is pleased with my progress, and tells me to keep doing what I'm doing. My hair and skin are in good condition, my uterine measurements are right on, the baby is good size. I don't have any of the puffiness associated with pregnancy, I'm still wearing my rings. I don't think there is any problem with low carbing during pregnancy, if you can manage 30 gms per meal with 2 15 gram snacks you should be good. The baby needs the protien and fats for proper development, unless your dr is supportive of low carbing I wouldn't tell him you are low carbing just what kind of foods you eat in general (lots of veggies, complex carbs and some fruit, good meats and good fats.)
You don't want to be in ketosis because it can mask signs of complications. I think I can be shown as an example of low carbing being good during pregnancy. Go look in my journal for more info.
