Hi Amy,
I was low-carbing before I got pregnant (doctors orders, actually) Once we found out I was pregnant, the doctor told me to start slowly adding carbs back into my diet. I needed to work my way up to a 4000 calorie/day diet since I was having triplets and needed all the extra resources.
Granted, I gained all the weight I lost on LC (about 75 pounds) plus an extra 5, for a total gain of 80 pounds... 50 of which was due to pre-eclampsia, and within 3 weeks of giving birth, i was down 85 pounds.... again, mostly due to pre-eclampsia!
So... for what it's worth, I think watching your carbs is ok, but I wouldn't dip under 100g/day while your pregnant.
