Congrats on the strong start!
No I haven't taken a cleanse. I don't remember reading anything about this in DANDR. I have just basically stuck to what the book says and it's helped me get rid of 50lbs so far. I have little doubt that I will also lose another 30 approx. nor I'm I concerned about regaining problems.
I think if you just stick to the book that will be enough IMHO.
