Hiya. Welcome aboard.

>>"So why shouldn't I feel discouraged and quit this.."

Because it takes more than four days to make up for (insert your age here) years of pounding your pancreas with sugar and starch.

The good news is that you're already close to your healthy weight range. The down side is that this is when it's hardest to lose weight. Practically everyone will slow down as they approach goal.

There are lots of people who have done really well and post their menus daily. Browse journals by clicking the below our posts... but not mine. I've been a little too busy to track my food here lately.

I can tell you in a nutshell what the successful people eat:

breakfast: some combination of eggs, sausage, leftover meat, or hard cheese, maybe a cup of coffee.
lunch: some combination of meat, eggs, and salad veggies from the list in the book, with dressing with less than 2 g carb per serving.
dinner: same as lunch with cooked veggies instead, if desired.
snacks: from the acceptable foods list only. Hard boiled eggs, cheese (watch the limit), maybe a cup of coffee (watch the limit on the cream *and* sweetener.)
