Perhaps I can help. It is a dysfunctional relationship with food. I am an addict and binge-eater who grazed all day or binged/starved. When you're a food addict, it is just like someone who is an alcoholic or heroine user - food is all that matters, food is God. When I am in the food I will chose food over my own husband or mother; I will spend my last dime on food. It's not pretty.

Whether the above cases in the article are examples of addict behavior, I am not one to say. Most food addicts are embarrassed and shamed to speak about their addiction... I am most of the time.
