Yeah, I don't think her sickness was diet related, but as others have said, because you don't have anything in your stomach to absorb the alcohol, LCs tend to be more suceptible to alcohol. I know that I start feeling woozy much sooner now than I did before LC'ing, and this seems to be pretty common.

I think your friend needs hot tea and chicken broth, and to limit the shooters the next time around (or at least not dring the beer first! )
