From a marketing standpoint:They may be on to something with trying to reach a niche of simultaneous regular & diet cola drinkers. These people who like to crossover are probably just balancing out the number of calories that they consume by endulging in the regular stuff and balancing it out with the diet. Mindset: I'd love to drink another soda, but I've already had two Pepsi's today. Well, I'll drink a Diet Pepsi since it has no calories. But, unless it has some revolutionary taste, then I doubt if people will really flock to it. I think that this product may have been in development long before the low-carb craze has kicked in full throttle.
From a personal standpoint, I like Diet Rite too much to stray when I finally reach goal.
They've been wrong before (ex. Pepsi Blue....nasty, nasty stuff!!)
