Hmm - how about instead of focusing on the bacon and fats you focus on the fact that you get to eat natural, whole foods that are great tasting and good for you. You can eat beef, chicken, pork, lamb and fish along with wonderful fresh veggies, berries and some other fruits, nuts and seeds. You also get the benefit of real butter, cheese and cream (yum, yum!).

You might also add that you simply bypass anything with any form of sugar and refined flours. This isn't a diet. It's a way of life for health.

Oh, BTW, just because your friend is at or near her proper weight doesn't mean she won't have the same carb induced diseases that many overweight folks have. I'm talking about diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol. One of the thinnest people I know who also exercises religiously has high blood pressure, horrible cholesterol and is insulin resistant. Unfortunately she also has it firmly stuck in her head that she absolutely must stick to the low fat way of eating and starve herself to maintain her weight.
