It's easy (for me at least) to see both sides of this problem: On the one hand, many people arguably feel that physicians and drug companies are more involved in reacting once a health problem arises, and couldn't care less about keeping you healthy in the first place. Therefore they have a financial stake in seeing to it that you have no access to supplements that could keep you well.

On the other hand, many would contend that since supplements don't have to go through the same clinical trials as prescription drugs for safety and effectiveness, it's a question mark whether they actually do what is claimed.

The truth probably lies somewhere at a murky place between these two views. I do know this: You need to be *very* careful which supplements you take. Check out this article. I tried to ignore the vitriol and take in the facts. Which are scary enough in themselves.
