Yep...I know what you mean...I don't really think I look fatter...but I still think I look horrible...even as far as I've come. I think I would tend to agree with those who said you are being too hard on yourself...I know I am!  The problem with thinking this way is that I'm afraid I'll feel the same way even when I get to goal and get toned up. I hope I don't...and when I'm realistic I do have to admit that I DO look better. One thing that helps me is to keep a before picture handy to compare myself to. That helps A LOT!
