After 8 months on Atkins, my overall cholesterol was 7.6, like yours, but my HDl was 2.34 and triglycerides were 0.7! And glucose normal. I didn't have a 'before' to report on here.

I agree with the others re finding a doctor who is familiar with low carb approach to diabetes.
