I'm no expert but I've read several places that you should work out on an empty stomach if you can, so that you aren't burning the calories from what you just ate in your workout - that you are burning stored fat - and that you should wait between 45 minutes to one hour after your workout. This is supposed to give you maximum benefit. However, any workout any time is better than none!
