I believe it's due to low level of leptin. I've observed this in so many people -- after a huge amount of weight loss in a short time, they get HUNGRY -- really hungry, and can cause binge eating. A few of my friends (including me) started bingeing on food for awhile and they used to be so incredibly disciplined with their food intake, which goes to show sometime you don't have control over your body. Your body loves to be in equilibrium. It thinks you're being starved, so it WANTS food. I do not think it's due to the higher amount of carbs you're eating. 30 grams of carbs?? That isn't much to cause that kind of hunger.

My suggestion? Hang in there! Go on maintenance carbs/cals. Give your body the impression that you are feeding it again. Then when it's satisfied, switched back to losing weight mode.
