Incidentally, cortisol *can* be moderated by what you eat. Body builders know that a small dose of dextrose (2-3 rolls of Smarties, 15-20 g carbs) and some protein will help control cortisol levels which tend to rise half an hour or so after a strenuous (i.e 'stressful') workout.
