Hi all,

I'm a bit of a newbie, but I have specific experience in this area. I have a chronic condition that causes that *every* time I stand up. What I can tell you is that two things are likely the culprit, and they're related:

1 - loss of electrolytes
2 - loss of fluids

Drink more water -- if you get dehydrated, it doesn't just come from your tissues, it also comes from your blood volume. Decreased blood volume = low blood pressure = dizziness. So be sure and drink.

But water alone won't increase it, you have to add electrolytes. Potassium is good because it's an electrolyte, but sodium is also a must because it helps your body hold on to the water you're drinking, instead of using it exclusively to flush out toxins.

Me, I have to consume 5800 mg of sodium a day to keep from feeling bad! Of course, I wouldn't recommend that to the average person. My blood pressure, with the sodium, stays about 100/65.

Also, if you find that it does NOT go away after a while, email me. You may have a similar chronic condition.
