Unless you are very active, I don't think your average is at all too low for your weight. At that level you aren't in danger of losing muscle or slowing down your metabolism, I think eating more would only slow your weight loss.
I weight 156, live a sedentary lifestyle (almost no physical activity lately since treadmill broke ) and don't eat more than 1400 calories daily. Sigh I miss my treadmill... it will be a week until I can get it back.
