That's NOT the metabolic advantage, as I understand it (I've read DANDR three times.)
The metabolic advantage is that, calories being equal, you waste calories from protein and fat because they have to be converted to fuel the body can use, like carbs and ketones, while real carbs burn no energy in the conversion.
I don't think this experiment addressed this at all.
