I posted the other day about counting calories because I had not lost any weight in several days after loosing 5 lbs. the week before and was given the advice to up mine by about 300. I tried it for two days and gained a lb. back both days!!! I reread Atkins book and found NOTHING to substantiat counting calories - actually it was the opposite. So today I just went back to eating what I want to eat, which ends up being approximately 1000 cals. per day, every day. I definately don't FEEL like I'm starving...as a matter of fact right now I feel like I ate too much. I lost 50 lbs. not worrying about calories, so I guess I've done okay. I do plan to search the Atkins website to see if there is any info there about counting calories...I'd like to know where this info came from too, because it seems to be an accepted practice on this website. It would be nice to know the why behind the practice - as I'm positive there is one. Obviously it has helped lots of people in certain circumstances.
