I'm maintaining at between 60-80 carb grams a day, but that's with tons of exercise. Robert, I do believe you'll be able to eat far more carbs once you've exercised your way to more muscle and less body fat. Of course age also makes a difference (I'm 54, and body changes come very slowly at my age).
