OMG yes!! I was at the local grocery store today and practically fainted when I noticed the disparity between black and green olives. What's interesting though is that I was not able to find any info about the Kalamata olives (the gorgeous blackish-brown Greek ones). Those at my grocery store are found in the fresh bulk area and you scoop your own so there is no label with info. I cannot find them in a jar or at least I did not look hard enough. I have been making all my salads with green ones but I love the true traditional Greek ones to my... err… you guessed it... Greek salad. Now I just wish olives in general did not contain so much salt! yuck
