He will do better on induction bringing his lunch than eating out!! First of all salad is very portable - heap it with meats and some cheese. Load up that salad with chicken or tuna salad(of course in order to keep food cold will need a cooler!), deviled eggs, the sky is the limit! Check out the recipe forum for great hints..Good Luck!
