I didn't realize SB was controversial. I buzzed through the book at my mother in laws, and I thought, this is basically Atkins at one of the intermediate levels. Even Atkins says you have to lower your fat intake as you increase carbs. And some people do find they have more trouble controlling cravings when saturated fat is high. This is definitely a YMMV.
