Thumbs up Hi! I'm a newbie too! GREAT SITE!

So happy to find this site! It's absolutely wonderful and just what I need. I've lost about 30 lbs. since 09/15/03 (from 192 to 162) on the South Beach Diet but have put about 3-5 back over the holiday season. I am sure this organization will help me to stay on track. My name is Carole and I will be reading all of the "newbie" threads and advice from existing members so I can get my bearings and become an active member of the group. I would like to share a nice recipe I have found to start:

Cinnamon-Roasted Almonds
Here is an easy snack idea to serve at any holiday party.
Prep Time: approx. 15 Minutes. Cook Time: approx. 1 Hour .
Ready in: approx. 1 Hour 15 Minutes. Makes 4 cups (16
servings).
Printed from Allrecipes, Submitted by BJ

1 egg white
1 teaspoon cold water
4 cups whole almonds
1/2 cup Granulated Splenda sweetener (12 carbs)

1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions
1 Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Lightly grease a 10x15 inch jellyroll pan.
2 Lightly beat the egg white; add water, and beat until frothy but not stiff. Add the nuts, and stir until well coated. Mix the sugar, salt, and cinnamon, and sprinkle over the nuts. Toss to coat, and spread evenly on the prepared pan.
3 Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven, stirring occasionally, until golden. Allow to cool, then store nuts in airtight containers.
Happy New Year! (Enjoy!)
