Bone-in because it gives it more flavor---I'm not sure about the size of my crockpot, you know it's about "that big". (Sorry about being such a smarty!) It should be one of the larger ones. And I usually do it on high. I've even done it with game hens-you know the little one that look like mutant chickens. The skin doen't brown crispy like in the oven but the flavor and juciness makes up for it. Plus its done when you get home and just falls off the bone. Good luck!!!
