Ice on the area for 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off. I also sit at a desk all day and take a break about every 30 minutes, just stand up and stretch or walk around. You can stand about arms length from a wall or a counter and place both hands on it firmly, slowly bend and stretch your back, very slowly. It should feel good and not hurt.

Also try to remember to sit straight with your legs not crossed, good posture really helps.

If its still sore tonight, do the ice and alternate with heat, 20 minutes of each ending with the ice. That has helped knock the pain for me.

Also something like aleve or naproxin helps with that kind of pain better.

I've suffered with a weak back and this has all been suggested to me by a chiropractor -- they do help and they are gentle.

Get to feeling better soon.
