I did a modified induction (added foods, but kept my total net carbs below 20 a day) until I was 10 lb. from goal weight. It worked out great for me, so I would definitely recommend it as an option. But to say that's what we "should" do is ridiculous. Most people are happier going into OWL, having more flexibility, and don't mind the slower losses.
