Less water would backfire if it's water weight. If your body feels it's not hydrated enough it will hang on to what water it has. Drinking more water will help to flush excess water weight form your system, taking along with it toxins and other nasties. It will also take sodium, pottasium, and electrolytes, which is why supplimenting can be so important.
