My SlimFast revision saved me 15 carbs.

I didn't go for the low carb shakes for many reasons: the SlimFast powder is cheaper; I am a creature of habit and I have had one of these every morning for over 30 years [I hate eggs & don't like breakfast cereal]; and I like the way they taste. I was reluctant to invest in a big container of low carb shake mix because I and a picky eater and I was afraid I wouldn't like the taste and then I'd be stuck with it. Actually, I have resisted buying any "low carb" products -- when I started this diet, I vowed to do it with a long-term approach in mind and eating as "normally" as possible.

The bottom line is: the diet has to fit your lifestyle and your likes and dislikes if you are going to do it for the long haul.

By the way, although I have SlimFast every morning, I have never tried the SlimFast diet. My SlimFast is just the successor to Carnation Instant Breakfast, which I started with in my teens. The can of Slim Fast powder is cheaper than the Carnation envelopes.
