Oatmeal on Atkins..
I am trying to figure out if I can eat McCaNN's Irish Oatmeal (Steel Cut)...
I am looking on adding a different source of fibre while on Atkins.
When I try to go through the Nutritional Facts, I can see no way of eating the Oatmeal, the carb count is too high.
Am I reading it wrong, because a lot of people on this board refer to eating Oatmeal.
The breakdown is as follows:
Total Calories 150
Calories From Fat 20
Total Fat 2 g 3%
Saturated Fat 0 g 0%
Polyunsaturated Fat 1 g
Monounsaturated Fat 1 g
Cholesterol 0 mg 0%
Sodium 0 mg 0%
Total Carbohydrates 26 g 9%
Dietary Fiber 4 g 15%
Soluble Fiber 2 g
Insoluble Fiber 2 g
Sugars 0 g
Protein 4 g
(reference for this info located here:
http://www.netrition.com/mccanns_oats_page.html)
So if I read this correctly (under Atkins) 26g - 4g (fibre) = 22g.
I dont see any way of allocating 22g to breakfast...
Am I doing something wrong?
