I found this today while surfing and I thought I'd share it with you.

Clinical study reveals increase of calcium decreases fat - researchers at Purdue University confirm with controlled study of women, ages 18 to 31, that higher calcium diets suppress a hormone that affects how fat is synthesized and stored in cells. Those who consumed daily average of 1,000 mg of calcium (equivalent of about 3 glasses of milk) and ate up to 1,900 calories a day, lost body fat and up to seven pounds over 2 years. Further research from Nutrition Institute at University of Tennessee, by Dr. Zemel, also discovered that when there isn't much calcium in the diet, fat cells receive a signal to conserve it. "On a high calcium diet, you suppress these hormones, reduce fat accumulation and increase fat breakdown. Calcium actually inhibits the formation of the enzyme necessary to produce fat, so a diet high in low fat dairy causes fat cells to make less fat and turn on the machinery to break down fat," Dr. Zemel says.
