I think ANY eating plan provides only slow weight loss for those who don't have much to lose. I know when I was on low-calorie, I always stalled out about 10 pounds from goal. The problem is, on low-cal, you get diminishing returns, as eating less and less slows down your metabolism more and more. Fortunately, that doesn't happen on low-carb. If it takes me another year to lose that last 15 pounds or so, at least I'll ENJOY the process!
