Lisa, coconut isn't technically a nut, but a "drupe" or "dry drupe" or "false nut". It's actually the seed of a fruit.

quark, as you've been on induction for quite a while, you are probably so familiar with your body's reactions by now that the idea of trying it out and evaluate is probably okay. If in doubt, why not mail atkinscenter, explain your situation and ask? Other people have done so with other "special foods" questions and got good replies from them.
