I had a similar reaction to the Glucotrol.( I can't spell??!) Anyway, when my doctor put me on it I had heart palpitations. I could tell that I was very aware of my heart beat and it seemed,..... harder or something than ususal. He hooked me up to the EKG thing and saw them right there. So he switched me to glucophage XR, which now I am really glad he did. At the time I didn't know much about the different kinds of meds. He said that heart palpitations are a rare side effect of the glucotrol. I also had some bad lows on it. I was 59 once after eating a full, big meal. (Low carb, but still plenty of food.....grilled Salmon and salad) It felt terrible, I thought I was going to pass out. Anyway, I hope you get it under control.
