Here's a little quote from that article:

~"Every year millions of Americans try low-carbohydrate and high-carbohydrate diets in an effort to lose weight. They do this even though very little is known about whether these diets are healthy or effective.

Half the participants will be randomly assigned to eat a low-carbohydrate diet similar to the Atkins diet. .... The other half will be assigned to a high-carbohydrate diet .... an eating plan that is high in fruits, vegetables, grains and low-fat dairy products, and low in fats."

Read between the lines. It is *not known* whether a high carbohydrate, low-fat diet - such as the one promoted by the USDA and most doctors nowadays - is healthy and effective??? An independent research institute is ADMITTING this?

Now THAT's food for thought!
