My mom asked her doctor about it too and he is the one who diagnosed her with diabetes and he just told her..no, you just need to eat less fat.... I was heartbroken ebcause I was so excited that she was thinking about Atkins...

She did tell me though that she cut our potatoes for life when I told her she should and she lost 5 pounds in a week...lol
