One thing to examine, is why did you have the can of pop? I'm assuming it was full sugar kind since it set off triggers. Was there nothing else to drink, was it to much of a temptation?

Remember this is a WOL and while sometimes you can be flexable, there are some things that you will probably never be able to eat without problems. I don't think there is any diet be it low carb, low fat, low cal, that lets you dirnk regular pop because the stuff is just so toxic sugar/calorie/acid ect ect wise.

Look into getting some Diet Rite for your cravings for soda. Learn to drink alot more water as well, saving the diet soda for treats.

If it was a diet soda with no sugar, did it contain asperteme? It could be that you react to asperteme as if it was real sugar. It could also be the caffine in the soda triggered a blood sugar response.

In any case it is obvious that soda is a trigger food for you. Lesson learned This WOE is all about learning about your body and habits. This isn't a crisis, it is a learning process and you learned something new. Now it is time to figure out what about it aused the binge and how to avoid that in the future.
