Hi Amanda--

That seems like a lot to me, too...but most of us have been doing that (or darn close to it) for quite a while. It's part of what makes the Atkins WOE work so well. Part of the reason is that the foods in this diet act as diuretics, and it's necessary to make plenty of water available so you don't become "volume depleted" and dizzy. In addition, your bloodstream carrries away a lot of the waste products that are produced when your fat cells release them. Large amounts of water aid the kidneys in processing your blood and keeping it "fresh" to carry away another load of these toxins. The final reason is that water tends to "fill us up" with no carb penalty...and that's not a bad thing at all.

Keep drinking your water...your body will thank you.
