Kristie, if you're talking about Amish jerky (I live in PA, too), then I'd suspect there's TONS of sugar and preservatives in it and I'd personally avoid it.

Whole Foods carries jerky (made from turkey) that's sugar-free and quite low in carbs, with no preservatives. That's probably a safer bet.
