As someone who knows quite a bit about kidneys and their functioning I have to say that eating high protein or fat diets CANNOT give you a kidney infection. Bacteria does. Maybe if she was experiencing stones or blocking or protein in her urine she could blame it on Atkins but an infection comes from an infection.

While I am no doctor I have had a kidney transplant and know more than the average bear about this sort of thing. This woman is a moron.

Anyway encouraging you to drink massive amounts of water, which is part of the Atkins diet is beneficial, not harmful to your kidneys.
