The fat cells you made it out of adolescence with are the fat cells you're stuck with - short of liposuction. You can grow new ones as an adult, but you cannot 'lose' them.
I don't think you would continue to bloat up the same amount as you did at your heaviest - I know I don't and I've lost a lot of fat.
