I got a Salter electronic scale on the net....it was expensive but well worth it. It measure both ounces and grams and does liquids as well!

I can also put a plate on it, and use that as the "zero" then add food to the plate to measure it (great with messy stuff...or liquids)...it only measures what is on the plate and does not add the weight of the plate into the total (otherwise you will have to weigh empty plate then subtract total from plate with food...not very convenient)!
