Default Glycemically Acceptable Foods

The GRI Glycemic Index contains a large list of Glycemically Acceptable foods. The list of these foods is divided into over 40 categories. Below is a small sample of foods listed in two categories.

Bottled Salad Dressing (per 2 Tbs.)
Most of the fat-free bottled Lite dressings in the grocery store are higher glycemic than the regular versions due to the addition of corn syrup, maltodextrins, and other added high glycemic ingredients. Many of the Lite, fat-free, and sugar-free salad dressings are not glycemically acceptable (most contain high glycemic carbohydrates which are not labeled as sugars). The following bottled dressings did not contain appreciable amounts of high glycemic ingredients.

Cardini's Zesty Garlic
Ken's Chunky Blue Cheese
Kraft Garlic Ranch
Wishbone Lite Italian
Zeus Greek Salad Dressing, all natural

Pasta/Pizza Sauces

Annie's Natural Roasted Veggie Sauce
Colavita Premium Sauce, Marinara, 100% natural, no added sugars
Pastene California Pizza Sauce (can)
Mom's Spaghetti Sauce, Timpone's (jar)
