Question Carb content in cream

Out of idle curiosity I found myself checking the carb content in a pot of single cream I'd bought from Somerfield. Now before we moved I was getting cream from Waitrose at a very happy 0g carb per pot. This one I suddenly noticed was 3.9g per 100ml!!!

Okay, so at least I may have found part of the cause of my recent stall, but I do wonder how there could come to be such a difference between stores for essentially the same product? I'm assuming this one boils down to a basic difference of cheaper store, cheaper cream, less wholesome manufacturing process...

Still, its really made me aware you can't afford to stop checking labels... even on "safe" foods. Off to Tescos next to see what theirs has to say for itself!
