Now the BBC wants you

WOULD YOU LIKE TO FEATURE IN A BBC TV DOCUMENTARY?

As you may know, I am a long term low carber, committed to raising awareness
of the health benefits of low carbing and working to make it easier for us
all to follow a low carb lifestyle. The main way I do this is through my
Low Carb is Easy.com website and by communicating with the media, food
industry and any organisation that has an interest in or might be useful to
us as low carbers.

As a result of my contacts with the media, some months ago I was asked to
help find a low carber to feature in Shape Magazine and posted a message on
various low carb boards. I am pleased to report that the response was very
good, one of the candidates we offered was chosen and I am told that the
feature is in the August issue of Shape.

I have now been asked by the makers of Horizon (BBC2 science documentary
series) to help find someone for a programme they are making about the
Atkins Diet. The focus will be on investigating whether the 'science behind
Atkins' is true or not, and they plan to get interviews with the authors of
the two landmark studies that have recently been published (Foster and
Westman).

The person the Horizon team is looking for is about to try the Atkins diet,
but hasn't already started it yet, and is female (they already have two male
dieters so now want a woman to balance the programme). Ideally the person
will have tried many diets but to no avail, is curious to try Atkins, and
willing to tell Horizon all about it. It is crucial that the person must
stick to the diet for at least 4 weeks. It would involve roughly about 3
days of filming over about 4 weeks, so the person needs to be living in the
UK, preferably within reasonable reach of London. If you are interested,
contact Sophie Harris of the BBC at 0208 752 5818.
